the rain of fire in orange and yellow
falls like tiny flames, little sparks
then a rush of purple and blue
comes zooming in, coming so close
before making a sudden turn,
filling the air with smoke.
after a while, the air clears,
and my mind with it.
it was dangerously close,
close enough to burn,
but my eyes were transfixed,
my feet couldn’t, no, wouldn’t leave.
